Sufficiency Assessment

Under the Childcare Act 2006 local authorities take on a new duty from April 2008 to secure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that the provision of childcare is sufficient to meet the requirements of parents in their area in order to enable them to work or undertake education or training leading to work.  To ensure that we have sufficient childcare in North Lincolnshire the Childcare Development Service have carried out a Sufficiency Assessment.

The Childcare Development Service published its first childcare sufficiency assessment. The purpose of the assessment is to establish if there is enough childcare available for parents to work or attend training. Childcare means registered provision for children and young people aged 0-14 years old or 0-18 years old with SEN or a disability.

We would like to thank everyone that read and commented on our Draft Sufficiency Assessment.  Comments were fed into the Sufficiency Assessment 2008..
